Work With Us

Solar Plugin UK launched in 2026 as the UK government opened up the plug-in solar market. We are an independent, reader-first guide for UK households researching, buying and setting up their first solar system. Our audience is people who are actively looking to buy — not passively browsing.

If you make, sell or distribute plug-in solar products, accessories or related services, we would like to hear from you. Here is how we work with partners.

Product reviews

We review plug-in solar kits, microinverters, mounting systems, batteries and accessories. Reviews are honest. We cover what works, what does not, and who each product suits. We do not write puff pieces.

If you would like us to review your product, send us a sample kit to test. We will assess it against the criteria our readers care about most: build quality, real-world generation output, app experience, G98 compliance, warranty terms and value for money. We will publish the review whether the result is positive or mixed, though we will always give you the opportunity to respond to any concerns before publication.

We do not charge for editorial product reviews. What we ask for is a sample unit, time to test it properly, and enough technical documentation to assess compliance with UK regulations.

To submit a product for review: email us at [email protected] with a brief description of the product, a link to the technical specification, and your UK availability and pricing. We will confirm whether the product fits our editorial calendar.

New product and service announcements

Launching a new plug-in solar kit, accessory, installer service or energy product in the UK? We cover new market entrants and product launches that are relevant to our readers. If it is genuinely new and useful, we want to know about it.

Send us your press information, product specifications, UK pricing, availability date and any supporting images. If it fits our editorial remit, we will feature it in our news section at no charge. We do not publish press releases verbatim, but we will write up the key details in our own words and link back to your product page or website.

To submit a product announcement: email [email protected] with your press pack or a summary of what is new and why it matters to UK plug-in solar buyers.

Guest articles and contributed content

We welcome well-written, genuinely useful articles from people who know the plug-in solar market. This includes installers, product specialists, energy consultants, researchers and experienced users who have something practical to share.

Guest articles must be original, factually accurate and written for a UK audience. They should help our readers make better decisions or understand something they did not before. We do not publish articles that are primarily promotional. If your article exists mainly to sell something, it belongs in the sponsored content section below.

Topics we are actively looking for include: installation experiences and lessons learned, technical deep-dives on microinverter technology, real-world battery performance data, tariff optimisation strategies, and practical guides for specific home types such as flats, terraced houses and new builds.

Articles should be between 600 and 1,200 words. We will edit for clarity and house style. We include a short author bio and link back to your website or LinkedIn profile.

To pitch a guest article: email [email protected] with a two or three sentence summary of what you want to cover and why it is useful to our readers. No need to write the full piece first.

Sponsored content

We offer a small number of sponsored content placements per month. These are clearly labelled as sponsored and sit alongside our editorial content. Sponsored articles follow the same quality standards as our editorial pieces: they must be informative and relevant to UK plug-in solar buyers. We will not publish content that is misleading, makes unsupported claims, or fails to meet basic accuracy standards.

Sponsored content is suitable for product launches, buying guides, installation overviews, brand awareness pieces and seasonal campaigns. We will work with you on the brief but reserve editorial discretion over the final content.

For sponsored content enquiries including pricing, lead times and availability, email [email protected].

Display advertising

We have a small number of display advertising positions available, including banner placements in the sidebar and within article content. These suit brands that want ongoing visibility with an audience that is actively researching plug-in solar purchases.

We keep advertising limited. We would rather have fewer, more relevant ads than fill the site with placements that degrade the reading experience. If your product or service is genuinely relevant to our readers, we are interested in talking.

For display advertising rates and availability, email [email protected].

Affiliate partnerships

We include affiliate links to products we recommend in our buying guides and reviews. If you offer an affiliate programme for plug-in solar products, accessories or related services, we are open to discussing terms. We only link to products we would genuinely recommend to our readers regardless of commercial arrangement.

To discuss affiliate arrangements, email [email protected].

Our editorial policy

Solar Plugin UK is editorially independent. Commercial relationships do not influence our editorial coverage, and paid content is always clearly labelled. We follow the ASA non-broadcast advertising code and the principles of transparent disclosure for all sponsored and affiliate content.

We will not accept partnerships with products that do not meet UK safety standards, make claims we cannot verify, or that we would not in good conscience recommend to a family member. If a product is good, we will say so. If it has significant shortcomings, we will say that too.
